1. Who we are
Shortlisted ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered job application workspace. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this service. You can contact us at support@shortlistedapp.com.
2. What data we collect
- Account data: your name and email address when you register.
- CV content: the text extracted from your uploaded CV documents.
- Job descriptions: text you paste into the application.
- Usage data: which features you use and when, to improve the service.
- Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the CV tailoring and cover letter generation service.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, subscription receipts).
- To improve the product through aggregated, anonymised usage analytics.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your CV content for AI training.
4. Third-party services
- Anthropic: your CV text and job descriptions are sent to the Anthropic API to generate tailored documents. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
- Stripe: handles all payment processing.
- Render: our application and database are hosted on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
- Cloudflare R2: uploaded CV files are stored in Western Europe (EU). Cloudflare does not use your files for any purpose other than storage and delivery.
5. Data storage and location
All your data — including your account details, CV content, and job application history — is stored exclusively on servers located within the European Union. Our application and database run in Frankfurt, Germany; uploaded files are stored in Western Europe via Cloudflare R2. Your data never leaves the EU.
6. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@shortlistedapp.com.
7. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@shortlistedapp.com.
8. Cookies
We use only essential session cookies required for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
